It was wonderful to be part of Medhya's first birthday party, held at a play zone. Every corner of the venue was set up for a day of fun, with games, rides and bright decor made for little ones. This kind of play zone birthday photoshoot is always full of energy and movement to work with.
Medhya was not in the happiest of moods for most of the event, and that is exactly the kind of honest moment I like to capture rather than avoid. First birthdays can be overwhelming for a one year old, new faces, loud sounds and a lot going on all at once. Still, there were a few precious moments where she broke into a smile and let her joy show through, and those frames ended up being some of the most special ones from this Delhi birthday shoot.
A first birthday photoshoot in Delhi or in Bangalore does not need to show a constantly cheerful child to be meaningful. It is about capturing the day as it truly happened, the tired moments along with the happy ones, since that honesty is what makes candid kids photography feel real years later.
