It was a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with this family and photograph their newest member. As a newborn photographer in Gurgaon, sessions like these always feel a little different when you already know the family, since there is no getting comfortable phase, just picking up right where the warmth left off.
Her elder sister was supremely happy to have her and could not wait to play with her throughout the shoot. This kind of sibling photoshoot, capturing that bond forming in real time even in the first few weeks, is one of my favourite parts of any newborn home session.
We shot all of this in S's parents' gorgeous and well ventilated house in Gurgaon. The natural light coming in through the windows made this indoor newborn photography session feel warm and effortless, with no need for any artificial setup. This is exactly why I love shooting candid, unposed newborn photos at home rather than in a studio. It keeps the images authentic and true to how the family actually lives, which is what a documentary style baby photoshoot is all about.
