An Outdoor Photoshoot for a Toddler
When D's mother contacted me for a photoshoot of her soon to be 3 year old son, I was elated! They wanted to get their 3 year old's toddler photoshoot done before his first haircut (Mundan), a milestone in itself that they wanted captured properly before it changed forever.
My job then became to not just take his photos but to focus on his locks as well, since those curls were not going to stay for much longer. A child so full of energy and with a mind of his own, that is exactly the kind of kid photoshoot I love. It also brought back memories of this exact phase with my own kid, one that goes by faster than you expect.
We captured a mix of posed and playful moments during this session, giving D room to be his energetic self while still getting a few clean, timeless portraits along the way. That balance is often what makes a kids lifestyle photoshoot feel complete. Most often these sessions turn into full blown candid family photoshoots because both the parents are so deeply involved with their child.
