"I am 4," corrected M, when I asked her how she felt about turning 5. Meanwhile the other M was fast asleep around the same time we were having this conversation. That pretty much sums up the energy of this entire session.
This indoor candid photoshoot of these two kids, M and M, was one of the most enjoyable ones I have had in recent past. First cousins by relation and separated by a couple of years in age, the two of them together brought a mix of chaos and charm that made this shoot so much fun to photograph.
These two decided to first raid the toy room, going through every storage box they could find, and then jumping off it for good measure. Once that excitement settled, it turned into dance time, with the rest of the family getting pulled in one by one. This is exactly the kind of candid family photoshoot I enjoy the most, one where nobody is posing and everyone is simply being themselves.
That day happened to be one of Delhi's smoggiest days of the season, but it did not dampen the spirits of these kids one bit. They still spent some time outside, jumping into a muddy puddle and stopping to examine a fallen flower like it was the most interesting thing in the world. Sometimes the best moments in an indoor kids photoshoot happen just outside the door.
